The weight is evenly spread across, and the rubber mats mould themselves to the shape of the pit, ensuring a tight air seal. It has been proven using silage mats helps slow down the decomposition of silage or maize, and in turn, this helps reduce the volume of effluent. They provide total protection against birds who cannot peck through as there are no holes.
